Cía. Teatro Futuro is a structure of creation and production based in Buenos Aires, founded by Mariano Tenconi Blanco –playwright and theater director-, Ian Shifres -musician and composer- and Carolina Castro -producer-.
With proposals focused on literature, music and performance, the company seeks to create new worlds based on the revolutionary power that imagination has and in fiction as a way of making politics.
The company has already premiered the plays The beast (2013), The tears (2014), Future (2015), Lima Japón Bonsai (2016), Walsh. All the revolutions together (2016) and Everything would make sense if death did not exist (2017) –wich obtained the first prize in the IX German Rozenmacher Prize of New Playwriting- and was co-produced with the International Festival of Buenos Aires, the Performing Arts Festival of Montevideo, the Rojas Cultural Center, the San Martín Cultural Center and the Comedy of the Province of Buenos Aires.
In June 2016, the company premiered La fiera in Montevideo with an Uruguayan cast and musicians, in co-production with Medio Mundo Cultural Management (Uruguay) and in January 2018 premiered the Argentine-Chilean co-production Astronautas in Santiago de Chile, at the Festival Santiago a Mil-The company has toured throw Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Peru, Colombia and Spain.
